REQUEST FOR VOLUNTEERS: 2010 ERITREAN CULTURAL FESTIVAL

The Eritrean Cultural Festival in the UK will be conducted from July 2 to July 4, 2010. The objectives of the Festival are the following:-

The Festival is organized across seven programmes, which are Children's activities, Family and Community Activities, Arts and Culture Programme, Forums and Ideas, Programme for friends and partners. The underlying theme of the Festival is “Collective Effort: To Build a viable future”. Thus, the main thrust of the programme will focus on the activities of children, youth and families (communities) as a way of achieving the objective and the theme underlined for the Festival.

The Festival will definitely require a great deal of resources and in particular human and organization capacities. As a way of mobilising the Eritrean capacity and expertise, the Festival organizers are asking all Eritreans to volunteer to do certain works in the management, organization and implementation of activities. The volunteer works can range from assisting in the preparation during the whole month of August, certain days of the week, specific hours daily or any other of convenience to the specific individual.
