Eritrean youth in the UK held a debate about the relationship between Eritrean men and women in the Diaspora on Sunday 16th of October. Over fifty young Eritreans attended the debate that took place in Adulis Restaurant

Several issues including the character, behaviour, and role of Eritrean men and women were debated heatedly for four hours. The debate was organised by the Eritrean Youth Association in the UK. Finally, the organisers gave each person an opportunity to give comments and feedbacks about the debate. The comments and feedbacks were all very positive. Some called for more debates to be organised as it has helped them understand each other and get to common ground.
Like in every Eritrean gathering in the UK, the lack of hall where Eritreans can meet was mentioned as a major problem. Hiring occasionally to hold a debate and other activities that encourage interaction among Eritrean was stated as an alternative until the community acquires its own hall.
